Intro to Puppet Making

Have you ever wanted to create a puppet with its own unique personality? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll work alongside experienced puppeteer Tonya Huber as she guides you through the process of designing and building your very own custom puppet from start to finish.

Tonya brings everything you need to create a one-of-a-kind character—including a wide selection of colorful faux furs, eyes, noses, accessories, and other specialty materials. Whether you envision a friendly monster, a woodland creature, a whimsical animal, or something completely original, you’ll have plenty of options to make your puppet uniquely yours.

Throughout this three-hour class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of puppet construction while receiving step-by-step guidance and individual instruction. No previous sewing or crafting experience is required, making this class a great fit for beginners, families, and experienced makers alike.

Although instruction is scheduled for three hours, your creative time doesn’t have to end there! Students are welcome to remain at LullCo until the studio closes that day to continue working on their puppets independently using the studio space.

All materials are included in the cost of the class, so simply bring your imagination—we’ll provide everything else. You’ll leave with a finished puppet, new creative skills, and a character that’s entirely your own.
