THE VIBE
The vibe is:
supportive, empowering, skill-building, a little chaotic, and extremely satisfying. You’ll leave with new skills, new friends, and a piece of furniture you’ll brag about forever.
Total Beginners
You can do this with absolutely NO experience. You’ll learn to measure, sew, and apply all of your materials. If there are areas you are uncomfortable with learning due to complexity, we can work to simplify the construction of your project to help you build confidence in your skills. You don’t have to learn everything at once.
Furniture Flippers
If you’re already into furniture flipping, but haven’t explored the upholstery side, it’s time to think about adding it to your skillset! There is a severe need for more skilled trades people in this industry, and there’s plenty of work out here for all of us. We’ll talk shop while you’re here and about how it can add to your revenue.
DIY'ers Leveling Up
My sustainability girlies know, they just don’t make em like they used to. Buying new has it’s own ethical concerns, but on top of that, modern furniture is designed for obsolescence. It starts to fail well within the first 5 years. You are investing in the future and in our planet when you find more use for old things. This weekend is a fun opportunity to explore your creative side and make yourself something nice. Maybe even explore it professionally?
Sewists & Quilters Wanting a New Challenge
You would be surprised just how adjacent sewing and quilting is to this craft. The attention to detail, and tailoring a style to fit a shapely frame. It’s every bit as fun as all of those things. Better yet, bring your quilts and create something with a personal touch.
People Who Want a Fun, Hands-On Weekend with Friends
You don’t even have to be INTO upholstery and furniture restoration to enjoy a weekend like this. My design studio is the perfect creative getaway for you and a friend to enjoy a unique experience where you don’t have to worry about preparing meals or finding touristy things to do. It’s genuinely a very fun experience. You should try it 😉
