HOW TO: NEEDLE FELTING

Needle felting is one of those crafts that feels a little like magic, and textile artist and instructor Katie MacLean-Peters will make you believe. You start with a handful of soft wool, a barbed needle, and a bit of imagination and end up with something entirely your own. In this cozy, beginner-friendly workshop at LullCo Design Studio in Ann Arbor, you’ll learn how to transform loose wool fibers into charming fairy garden figures, woodland creatures, and whimsical mushrooms.
 
No experience is necessary. We’ll cover everything from basic techniques and tool safety to shaping, layering, and finishing details. You’ll learn how to create structure, build form, and add color to bring your creations to life. Whether you want to make a gift, decorate your home, or simply unwind, this class is an open invitation to slow down and create with intention.
 
All materials are provided, including felting tools, wool, and embellishments. PLUS you’ll leave with at least one finished piece to take home. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, and full of laughter; it’s about process as much as product.
