Make Your Own Puppets!
Are you a puppet fan? Have you ever had the desire to know how to build your very own puppet? In this 4 hour course you will learn how to make your very own puppet pal to take home with you! I am an adult you say? Adults don’t play with puppets! Well of course they do and a very famous fella by the name of Jim Henson made quite a career of doing just that!
In this course you will use patterns designed by Project Puppet to build your very own monster puppet pal. We will discuss character design, glues, foam, fabrics and fur. After the base of your puppet is built we will discuss features including, eyes, noses and tongues. Can you thread a needle?

Tonya Huber, has been building puppets for 20 years, She has built puppets for Storytellers and Ventriloquists as well as worked on puppets for a kids math show. Some of her favorite puppet builds include her replica of Sweetums from the Muppet Show, Necco from “Positively Necco” and her Puppet versions of Calvin and Hobbes. She is extremely excited to bring and share her love of puppets with all of the participants.

Bring your own project to the studio on the weekends for guided support. We have all the tools and materials you need right here at the studio from foam to fabric, and staplers to industrial sewing machines.
